Funeral services for Ruby L. Satterwhite, 85, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale and Bro. Matthew Williams officiating. Entombment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight, Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jackie Hale, Chris Satterwhite, Jamie Wilson, Chad Lawson, Jeremy Stom and Ricky Middleton.
Satterwhite died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at 7:44 p.m. at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital ER.
Born March 4, 1925, to the late Albert and Bessie Aaron Lee in Stewart County, Tenn., she was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.G. (Top) Satterwhite; brothers, Dalton Lee and Dossie Lee; sisters, Onie Sykes, Emma Kidd and Della Satterwhite; and a granddaughter-in-law, Rondah Hale.
She is survived by daughter, Jo Wilson and husband, Johnny of Murray; sons, Earl Satterwhite and wife, Cyndy of Murray, and Bobby Satterwhite and wife, Cheryl of Murray; sister, Mable Sykes of Murray; grandchildren, Teresa Middleton and husband, Ricky of Puryear, Tenn., Jamie Wilson and wife, Ann of Advance, N.C., Jackie Hale of New Providence, Chris Satterwhite and wife, Sarah of Murray, Monica Lawson and husband, Chad of Murray, and Nikki Stom and husband, Jeremy of Kirksey; step-grandchildren, Patti Woods and husband, Monte of Mayfield, and Kim Edwards of Murray; 11 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one great-great-step-grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Helen Darnell and husband, Harold of Farmington, Hattie Kiser of Peoria, Ill., and Vita Satterwhite of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
