Rubie Elkins

Rubie Elkins, 89, of Almo Heights, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at her daughter's home in Elizabethtown.

Born May 14, 1921, in Calloway County, to the late John Tabors and Myrtle Boggess Tabors Lyons, she was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Elkins is preceded in death by her husband, James Oralee Elkins; and a brother, James Tabors.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Chrisman of Elizabethtown, and Norma Paschall and husband, Gedric of Murray; a sister Evelyn Vick of Coldwater; a brother, Tommy Lyons and wife, Ruth of Murray; grandchildren, Kim Morgan and husband, Doug of Elizabethtown, Chip Chrisman and wife, Jennifer of Charlestown, Ind., Stan Paschall and wife, Michelle of Almo, and Stacey Mills and husband, Brian of Almo; and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel at Murray Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Billy Turner officiating. Visitation was held Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Entombment followed at Murray Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Stan Paschall, Brian Mills, Chip Chrisman, Doug Morgan, Dwain McClard and Charles Long.
