Ronald Melvin

Funeral services for Mr. Ron Melvin, 58, of Murray, will be held Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Steven Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Melvin died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at 4:55 a.m. at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. He was born in Calloway County on Aug. 9, 1952, to the late Kenneth L. and Charlene Cloys Melvin. Before retiring he was owner and operator of Melvin's Tire Store.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Sheila Melvin of Murray; daughters, Angelia Cook and husband, Scott of Murray and Brandi Melvin of Louisville; sisters, Sherian Rorer and husband, James of Madisonville and Patricia Taylor of Huntsville, Ala.; brother, Tommy Melvin and wife, Denise of Mayfield; grandchildren, Jacob Melvin, Isaac Henson, and Sara Henson, all of Murray; an uncle, Adrian Cloys and wife, Margaret of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
