Mike Rose, 63, Murray, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at 7 p.m. At his home. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of Hardin Baptist Church. He was born May 11, 1946. His father, Euel Rose, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rosetta Shekell Rose, to whom he was married Sept. 1, 1966; his mother, Thelma Gamble Rose, Murray; three daughters, Kim Elkins and husband, Eric, Benton, and Kristie Thompson and husband, Mickey, and Ashley Rose, and one brother, Barry Rose and wife, Diane, all of Murray; four grandchildren, Jacob and Benjamin Thompson and McKenzie and Morgan Elkins.
The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Churchill-Imes Heritage Funeral Home. Bro. Ricky Cunningham and Bro. Brett Miles will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mickey Thompson, Eric Elkins, Barry Rose, Randall Scott, Randy Shekell and Dave Allen. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday.
