Meldon (Mickie) Morton The funeral for Meldon (Mickie) Morton was today (Tuesday) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Bro. Wayne Carter and Bro. Matt Williams officiated. Pallbearers were David Burris and Justin, Timmie, Shane, Corey and Monty Morton. Music was by Oneida White. Burial was in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Mr. Morton, 74, Kirksey Road, Murray, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at 11:20 a.m. at Marshall County Hospital. Benton. A retired used car dealer, he was a member of West Fork Baptist Church and Murray Lodge #105 of Free and Accepted Masons. Preceding him in death were his wife, Margaret Housden Morton, one sister, Sue Windsor, and his parents, Paul Morton and Lola Dunnaway Morton. He was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Calloway County. Survivors include one daughter, Denise Green and husband, Garrie, Murray; one son, Michael Morton and wife, Paula, Benton; three grandchildren, Kristi Hobbs and husband, Chris, Murray, Kala Cary and husband, Blake, Benton, and Susan Green, Antioch, Tenn.; one great-grandchild, Kinlee Ann-Marie Hobbs; three sisters, Salone Allen, Murray, Paula Rogers, Winter Haven, Fla., and Kay Mack and husband, Kevin, Benton; three brothers, Ed Morton and wife, Shirley, Billy Morton and wife, Joyce, and Donnie Morton and wife, Nancy, all of Murray.
