Mrs. Marilyn R. Rule, 84, of Murray, passeMrs. Marilyn R. Rule, 84, of Murray, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at
Brookdale Assisted Living in Murray.
Mrs. Rule was born on February 12, 1933 in Abington, Pennsylvania to the late Alvin Tull
and Marjorie Long Tull. Marilyn lived in Kentucky 53 years having moved here in 1964
from Pennsylvania. She retired from Mattel in Murray and was a member of Kirksey United
Methodist Church where she was part of the United Methodist Women Group.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Leon Rule and
a sister, Dorothy Elisabeth Tull.
Surviving Mrs. Rule is a son; Roger Rule, wife Lisa Kerouac Rule, of Fulton, KY; three
daughters, Karen Dowdy, husband Roger, of Lynnville, KY, Brenda Jones, husband
Tommy, of Mayfield, KY, Jeanne Orr, husband Mike, of Murray, KY; three sisters, Sue
Tempesta, husband Carmen, of PA, Betty Kunkel, husband Will, of Kirksey, Peggy Addy,
husband Gary, of PA; a brother in law, Gerald Rule, wife Shirley, of Coldwater, KY; ten
grandchildren, Tracey Clayton, Jennifer Herndon (Jarrod), Cindy Danowski (Barry), Jimmy
Jones (Amy), Sarah Porter (Chad), Jessie Lorton (Steve), Julie Boyd (Chris), Jeffrey Rule,
Keisha Orr and Michaela Orr; ten great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
The funeral service is set for 12 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at The Heritage
Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Mike Orr, David
Albritten and Jim Stahler will officiate. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 10 AM-12 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the
Heritage Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Kirksey Methodist Church,
P.O. Box 8, Kirksey, KY 42054 or Anna Mae Owen Hospice House, 1959 State Route 94
West, Murray, KY 42071.
