MURRAY, Ky. - Services for Mabel Wilson Gargus Pickard, 86, of Murray will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Harold Irvan, Lyndon Ferguson and W.D. Jeffcoat will officiate. Burial will be at Murray Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Pickard died Tuesday morning at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Clear Lake, Texas.
A native of Henry County, Tenn., she retired from Murray State University as assistant to the bursar and was a member of the Calloway County Genealogical Society. Mrs. Pickard was a member of William Chapel Church of Christ, where she had served as Sunday school teacher for the ladies class since 1972.
Surviving are one brother, Larry F. Wilson of Murray; two grandchildren, Tara Gargus Fiese of Cerulean and Brian Scott Gargus of Hopkinsville; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eldridge Pickard; one son, James David Gargus; one brother; and one sister. Her parents were Sam Leslie Wilson and Jemima Paschall Wilson.
