MURRAY, Ky. - Services for Loyd "Buck" Thompson, 81, of Murray will be at 9 a.m. Friday at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale officiating. Burial will be at Murray Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Thompson died at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday at his home.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Glendale Road Church of Christ, where he retired as a custodian. Mr. Thompson was a farmer and worked at Tappan Manufacturing.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances Thompson; one stepson, Kevin McManus of Murray; one sister, Frances Kelso of Kirksey; one brother, Otiste Thompson of Murray; one stepgranddaughter, Laurel McManus of Murray; one niece, Luna Greer of Kirksey; and one great-niece.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Bruce McManus. His parents were Alvie Thompson and Hilan Shackelford Thompson.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
