James Pritchett

James Edward "Ernie" Pritchett, 77, of Dexter, Ky., died Thursday, Nov. 17, at Western Baptist Hospital.

Born June 23, 1934, Mr. Pritchett was a member of Dexter Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a song leader. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the South Marshall Senior Citizens Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wavel and Fairy Phillips Pritchett; seven brothers, Harvey Pritchett, Hays Pritchett, Euwl Pritchett, Fred Pritchett, Leonard Pritchett, Charles David, and Teddy Pritchett; and three sisters, Lois Elkins, Gladys Garland and Alma Lee.

He is survived by his wife, June Pritchett; two sons, Nathan Pritchett and wife, Anita, of Kirksey and Timothy Pritchett and wife, Alexia, of Dexter; one daughter, Rita Parke and husband, Robert, of Dexter; one brother, Willis Pritchett and wife, Cora, of Almo; and two sisters, Irene Dillon and husband, John and Peggy Ford, all of Dexter; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Imes-Miller Funeral Home. Glenn Cope, Paul Bogard, Randy McClure, and David Little will officiate. Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at the funeral home.
