MURRAY, Ky. - Services for Gladys Marie Cain Jarrett, 78, of Murray will be at 2 p.m. today at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with the Revs. James H. Cain and Lloyd Hardy officiating. Burial will be at Murray Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jarrett died at 11:45 a.m. Monday at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
A native of Camden, Tenn., she was a member of the Home Department of the Murray Woman's Club and was named 1989-1990 Kentucky Mother of the Year. Mrs. Jarrett was a graduate of Murray State University with a bachelor's degree in library science and a master's degree in secondary education.
Surviving are three sons, Calvin Jarrett of Huntingon, Tenn., James Jarrett of Gleason, Tenn., and Jimmy Ray Jarrett of Hamlin; five daughters, Jeanne Rhea of Raleigh, N.C., Jan Fricker of Murray, Laura Hogins of Anchorage, Alaska, and Evy Michale Jarrett Bostleman and Jennifer Jarrett, both of Toledo, Ohio; three brothers, Franklin D. Cain of Mount Juliet, Tenn., James Howe Cain of Summertown, Tenn., and Thomas H. Cain of Lafayette, La.; three sisters, Pauline Hardy of Dyer, Tenn., Mary Sue Myers of Louisville, and Evy Lou Goddard of Union City, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Jarrett; one brother; and one grandson. Her parents were Commie Elihu and Beulah Marie Howe Cain.
