The funeral for Fred Wilkerson Jr. will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Dr. William Dodson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday with Masonic services at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilkerson Jr., 82, Fox Meadows, Murray, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at 5:25 p.m. at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. An Army veteran of World War II, he was retired from Crouse Auto Brokers, Murray. He was a member of Bell City Baptist Church. Born June 26, 1926, in Harvey, Ill., he was the son of the late Fred Wilkerson Sr. and Dathel Hargrove Wilkerson. One sister, Bobbye Lamb, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Wilkerson, to whom he was married March 14, 2002; five daughters, Ricky Messer and husband, Jimmy, Texas, Bonnie Wilkerson, Nashville, Tenn., Lu Ann Johnson and husband, Johnny, and Lisa Schorr and husband, Greg, all of Lexington, and Sherri Roese, Murray; one son, Fred Wilkerson III and wife, Robin, Texas; two stepdaughters, Cindy Dunkle, Virginia, and Cordelia Williams, Tennessee; six stepsons, Danny Williams, Tim Wilson and wife, Dawn, and Steve Wilson and wife, Kaye, all of Murray; Bobby Williams, Florida, Kerry Williams, Tennessee, and Joe Don Wilson and wife, Donna, Sedalia; one sister, Jo Watson and husband, Bobby, Murray; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
