FRANK W. HOTZ, DD, 77, of Salem, IL died February 2, 2017 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

Born July 20, 1939 in Cuero, TX, he was the son of Jack Q. and Ruby Louise (Pearson) Hotz who preceded him in death.

A minister of the gospel, he earned a Doctorate of Divinity from Anchor Theological Seminary in Pharr, TX, and served as a former trustee for Anchor Theological Seminary. He had retired from the United State Air Force, and Radiac Corporation in Salem. He held membership in the Veteran of Foreign Wars, the DAV, and Marion Masonic Lodge. He was member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Salem. He had a passion for Christ, wanted people to know he experienced Eternal salvation and loved God.

He married Sandra (Carr) Tilkens, March 26, 1991 and she survives in Salem.

Also surviving are his children, Frank W. Hotz, Jr. and wife Cindy of Belton TX; Eric James Tilkens, and wife Rachel of Seattle, WA; Tanya Lyn Goodwin of Belton, TX, Karla A. Blake and husband Warren of Herrin, and Lindsay N. Townsend, and husband Greg of Carbondale, along with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Also his siblings, John W. Tisdale and wife Pam of Edinburg, TX, William "Recie" Tisdale and wife Cynthia of Dickinson, TX, and Louise Cole and husband Larry of Baton Rouge, LA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray A. Tisdale.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday at the Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Larry Shelton officiating. Visiting hours will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday in the Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY with John W. Tisdale officiating. Service will be concluded with military honors accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church or to the Donor's choice and will be accepted by the funeral home.
