September 22, 1917 - March 22, 2016

Emma Elizabeth Powell, age 98 of Benton, Kentucky died on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at
the Stilley House Assisted Living in Benton, Kentucky. She a homemaker and member of
Hardin Church of Christ.

Born Saturday, September 22, 1917 in Lynn Grove, Kentucky, she was the daughter of
the late Levi Ford and the late Ivey (Parks) Ford. She was the wife of the late Mason
Powell.

Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis Gunkel, husband Dale of Madisonville, KY, brothers,
H.L. Ford of Murray, KY and Jerry Ford of Murray, KY, sister, Shelby Halston of Murray,
KY; grandchildren, Clay Gunkel, wife Brandi of Madisonville, KY, Bart Gunkel, wife Stacy
of Austin, TX; and great-grand children, Olivia, Luci, Clayton, Claire, Sami, and Lizzie.
Also surviving are niece, Patricia Habacker of Paducah, KY, nephew, Fred Hatcher of
Louisville, KY, special family, Patricia McWane of Benton, KY, and Mary Beth Riggs of
Benton, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Bob Mason Powell, and
sisters, Geneva Hatcher, Sue Powell and Jessie Miller.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Collier Funeral
Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Dr. David Powell and
David Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25,
2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
