WINGO, Ky. - Billy Travis Slater, 74, of Wingo died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday at his home.
He was a retired machinist for Ingersoll-Rand and a member of Pryorsburg Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thacker Slater; five sons, Billy Slater of Wingo, Greg Curry and Mike Curry, both of Murray, Ricky Curry of Dukedom, Tenn., and Dale Slater of Tampa, Fla.; one daughter, Shirley Ann Barton of Tampa; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Slater; one daughter, Deborah Slater; one sister; five brothers; and a granddaughter. His parents were Bill and Alice Scott Slater.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Glen Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Murray Memorial Gardens in Murray.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
