uneral services for Barbara Jean (Whyte) McPhail, 54, of Dexter, Ky., will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at the Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Rebecca Alexander officiating. Entombment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mrs. McPhail died at 1:58 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at her home.
She was born May 8, 1957, in Joliet, Ill. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murray and worked as an instructional assistant with the Calloway County School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lois Achterberg Whyte.
She is survived by her husband, Robert L. McPhail, to whom she was married Sept. 9, 1978; one daughter, Christina Alexander and husband, George; one son, Nathan McPhail, all of Dexter; one sister, Janet Park; one brother, Richard Whyte and wife, Cheryl, all of New Lenox, Ill.; mother-in-law, Betty McPhail, of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Price, Kevin Wilson, David Park, Tim Boersma, Scott Marshall and Mike Carpenter.
