Mrs. Zelma Bogard York age 87 of South Elgin, Illinois, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at her residence. She was born April 30,1922 in Marshall Co. KY to the late Roy & Jewel (Parrish) Bogard. She married James Murel York and he preceded her in death on Jan. 15,1989. Her sister Dee Waldrup, and brother Troy Bogard also preceded her in death. She co-founded York Spring Company in South Elgin, IL in 1956 along with her husband, and was active in the business, and did traveling for the company until she became ill. She attended the Church of Christ. Mrs. York is survived by her son James Robert York (Betty), one sister, Relma Walston, one grandson, Michael York (Joy), one great grandson, Morgan York, and one great granddaughter, Haley York. A private entombment will be at Murray Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Friends may call after 10:00 AM until 11:30am Thursday at the York Funeral Home. The family request no flowers.
